Meet Second Thoughts™
Second Thoughts is a long time coming, and a dream for a more sustainable contribution to the industry come true. With fast fashion's steep rise, the need for modern apparel and the pressure to stay "on trend," rose with it. While Second Thoughts was not born to feed a trend cycle, the idea of producing modern garments via secondhand clothing was compelling as an option to avoid fast fashion and power personal style. Second Thoughts was born.
We're not a secondhand or resale store. We're a clothing line powered by secondhand pieces.
We are offering a modern uniform powered by secondhand. Focused on taking the best parts of today’s trends, classic styles, and secondhand pieces, and bringing something both familiar and different to the table. We do this for a few reasons; mainly to avoid contributing to the waste of the textile and fashion industry. We take these pieces as they are, clean them, and then add our ST touch to revamp the piece. In short, at the intersection of sustainability and craving modern styles that you’re too impatient to thrift, you can find us.

Second Thoughts' pieces are modern takes on secondhand clothing; the pieces and the way we design them are inspired by today's fashion landscape. We work to bring the magic of one-of-one while offering consistent styles to our customers. The main question we look to answer is, how do we believe the piece could be elevated to meet modern day demand in a way that is better for the environment?

We are proud to produce all Second Thoughts pieces right here in NYC, and we like to say "we," but it's essentially a one-woman show (for now)! Each garment is crafted with care and passion, and while every piece is made by hand, the unique nature of handmade items means that slight variations or imperfections may occur. These small differences, whether in size, stitching, or texture, are a natural part of the creation process and add to the character and charm of each individual piece.

Sustainability first and foremost.
Small batch production. We've witnessed the chaos of a thrift store donation center and our goal is to produce in smaller drops (as well as utilizing made to order and preorder options) so the pieces given to these donation centers can still reach their intended audience, being those who need them most.
Creativity. We are proud to bring a new life to the garments we work with and utilizing as much of every piece as possible.
