For our Stretch Waist Button Downs™, we source only secondhand men’s long sleeve button-down shirts that meet a series of important criteria, including no front chest pockets, no visible logos, stains or signs of wear, and only men’s button downs. Your button down will include its original brand tags so you know where your piece came from before it became a Second Thought.

The cinch panel along the back creates a flexible fit that sits with your waist, giving you the perfect shape at your waist and maintaining the shirt’s original oversized look.

Our carefully selected shirts and handmade process ensure the best and most uniform appearance, while still retaining their one-of-a-kind nature. Our goal is to provide a sustainable and eco-friendly option for a chic modern oversized button down.

These button downs are designed to be flexible in sizing using our Stretch Waist System™ (aka the short and sweet smocked panel along the back of the shirt). While the elastic panel is not adjustable, it allows for a comfortable fit within the following size ranges:

XS/S: Fits waists from 24"-28" (typically corresponding to women's sizes 0-4)

M/L: Fits waists from 28"-32" (typically corresponding to women's sizes 6-10)

XL/XXL: Fits waists from 32"-36" (typically corresponding to women's sizes 12-16)

If you are between sizes we recommend sizing down.
